Go to canva.com → Create a design → Search "YouTube thumbnail"

Set canvas background to #0B0E14 (or use a dark gradient from #0B0E14 to #1A1E28)
Use Syne Bold font. Set text color to white (#F0EDE8). Add drop shadow: Effects → Shadow → opacity 60%, blur 4, x 2, y 2.
Use amber (#F5A623) for highlight words, numbers, or decorative shapes. Keep it minimal — one accent only.
Search "AI robot", "automation", "tech" in Canva elements. Use simple line icons or gradient shapes. No faces.
Download as PNG (or JPG if file size exceeds 2MB). Upload to YouTube Studio.
Change the headline OR the icon OR the colors — never all at once. Run each test for 48+ hours.
Install the TubeBuddy extension. When uploading, use Thumbnail Test Drive to compare 2 versions automatically.
Click-through rate > 8% is great. Below 4% means the thumbnail isn't compelling enough — try a different angle.
Log which thumbnail version ran on each video. Update the content sheet with CTR data for future planning.
